About FAKE FISH
FAKE FISH (the “Federal Aquatic Knowledge Exchange Fighting-Fish Standards Integrity and Husbandry”) is satire and social art: a birthday prank that lets you send a friend a pompous, official-sounding fish registration saga.
It isn't real
FAKE FISH is not a government body and isn't affiliated with any government agency. The Acts, forms, fines, tribunals, stores and people in the letters are invented. The insignia is original parody artwork with a deliberate spelling mistake in it.
Prices (AUD)
Those are the only real charges. The 20-cent fine, 28-cent settlement, 10-cent award and fish food coupon in the letters are pretend: no money moves.
Your friend is in control
Every letter has an “End this now” button that ends the joke immediately. The sender's duration setting is a hard limit of at most 12 letters.
Refunds
For a refund, email fakefightingfish@gmail.com with your order number, or reply to your Stripe receipt. This doesn't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Privacy
We delete your friend's email address after sending; we keep a one-way hash for 12 months to honour do-not-email and limits.
We store the names you enter and the case letters, so the case can run. Each address gets at most one notice every 30 days and three in total. Every notice has a “Don't email me again” link and a “Report abuse” link. We don't use tracking pixels and we don't sell data.
